The other day we had a snow storm.

Around 10pm the power went out. My son and I went outside to see if the whole street was out or if it was just us. As we got onto the road we noticed a fire down the end of an adjacent street.

I called it in and because it was more in the wooded space, I thought the trees were burning. Once we got to that adjacent street, I realized it was a power line burning, and then the transformer box started to blow up. We were a safe distance from it but it was so loud and bright, it blew up three times.

The police came, fire dept, and the electric company. It took them from around 11pm to 4am to restore the power.

I didn’t catch the last two moments because I honestly forgot I was recording. 💥

Only you can prevent forest fires 🐻

That same thing happened to a power line connecting to my mother's house. I was outside when it happened and at first I heard it sizzling and crackling. I called the fire dep right then and only her roof ended up with slight damage. Scary to think if it happened after everyone went to bed.
That must’ve been so scary 😳 I’m so glad you and your son were safe. And good on you for calling it in right away.
I was at work when you posted this. On break now. You guys are okay?
Omffff! Im so glad you and your little one are safe <3 that coulda started a super big fire
Me too! I was surprised nothing was left burning because it was burning up there for a while before it blew. @TryingtoLava
Oh wow, that woulda been scary to me. Electrical stuff scares me anyway
It was very unexpected and I am glad we didn’t come closer. It was blinding, the sound and the electric scent was so specific. @Bexsy
We live in the same area 🤣
Do not @Nunlover

Those transformers will burn quickly. They are full of oil.
