A Long Cold Lonely Winter

I've been around for a while. I've gone through my fair share of winter. Having lived the northern part of the US, winter is expected to be snowy and cold, but man this winter has been really cold. Getting up in the dark with temperatures in the teens or lower for most of January and now February wears on a person. I try to stay active by getting on the treadmill several times a week. I feel so cold and lethargic. I know Spring will come, but I definitely am dealing with cabin fever and the winter doldrums. Taking it one day at a time.

I set my thermostat to 80 and do not care how high the bill is. Considering how much I spend at restaurants it is really just the cost of two or three meals.

I like it warm since I prefer being in my underwear, year round. My apartment is modern and well-insulated, and I soak up my neighbor's heat, too. If I turn off my heat is still stays above 70 inside my apartment, most days.

The hard part, of course, is stepping out. And the car heater takes a while to get warm. I like to drive without a coat since it impedes movement.

Pennsylvania here. I have to be at work at 4 AM. It’s called that time. But actually gets colder after that yet. This weekend low around zero or below apparently

I relate.
But the days are running later. If only the sun would show up.
