@JesseInTX well I would prefer that all year long lol. But can't go wrong with snowy weather in a warm cabin 😊

@Amandapower I love to watch such videos summer and winter.. They are comforting to me. I watched a lot after being diagnosed with cancer, it helped to calm me down. I ended up a few months ago buying a white noise sound machine that among many other sounds plays the sound of a crackling fireplace. Helps me drift off to sleep.

@Amandapower I want to get out in it.

@cherokeepatti I'm sorry to hear that I hope you're doing better ❤. I don't like those white noise machines or even the sounds it doesn't do it for me. Only the real thing

@TexChik let's go!

@Amandapower We have a rebuilt brass and wood sleigh in the barn. In 20 years, we have only managed to use it a handful of times, only twice during the holidays. We have all the big jingle-bell tack, the lights, and the beautiful horse harness. When it works out, it's downright impressive. This year, it was 87 on Christmas Day. I had to turn the A/C on to wear my Christmas sweater. And this is at the farm where we got stuck in a 40-inch thunder snow! Maybe next year.

@TexChik That sleigh setup sounds incredible! 87 on Christmas is just unfair! Maybe next year 🤞

@TexChik I was born on a farm in northwestern Missouri. Back on Christmas Eve in 1961 it came a quick huge dump of snow. Weather forecasting was not nearly as good about arrival times as it is now. My sister got stuck in town because the school buses weren’t picking anyone up to take them home. Our family friend waded in the snow about half a mile and picked up my sister and carried her to their home to stay with them. Then he waded snow to down town and bought gifts for her so she’d have something to open up the next morning. The snow plow got stuck going down the rural road next to our driveway so farmers weren’t getting to go anywhere either. We had a family friend who lived a mile or so away who showed up Christmas afternoon and took us on a sleigh ride. Still have photos of me and my younger sister being pulled around our cow pasture in deep snow. Then he went to other farms and did the same. It was a prime example of free entertainment back in those days.

@Amandapower I say that every year, but one of these days...its going to happen. We used a Clydesdale last time we had snow. I think he was proud to be all spiffed up in Christmas colors. The lights were modified lanterns so we could see better, but we had the blankets, hot chocolate, treats for the horse...and he loved the sound of the bells. That was one of the best ones

@TexChik There have been at least 5 snow falls here that I remember where a sleigh ride would have been possible. Last one was 2012 when we had a 12-inch blizzard on Christmas Eve.

@TexChik that sounds like a wonderful experience

@TexChik That sounds absolutely perfect. honestly one of those memories that makes all the work worth it. I love going to farms, but I know how much effort goes into everything. A proud Clydesdale in Christmas colors is hard to beat

@cherokeepatti Those are the kind we need. We have snow markers on the roads on the farm so we know where we are going , but its really rare that snow of sufficient amounts and the holidays coincide

@TexChik one of the best things is you can have fun outdoors without fear of rattlesnakes. It’s been so warm here the past month I actually used a flashlight to walk outside at night.

@Amandapower He belonged to my neighbor, and Veterinarian we share a fence line with. She said she thought he would love to do it. He was really sweet .

@TexChik Horses are incredible animals. I can probably count on one hand the number of times I’ve actually ridden one but every time left an impression

@Amandapower They are wonderful
