Ice and Stone
Time passes, and I watch it slide...
Safe behind these walls of ice and stone...
Trees planted and grown to forest, break up and diffuse the lights.
The pathways are immersed in a gray light, and I traverse them.
Wandering in merry wonder.
Beings fly and crawl.
Climb and run.
Hither and wither they go....
A tempt and a tease, or whatever will please me...
But bears are always nearer than expected.
Protected from my own neglections by the steady gazes
Center rests in the middle...
At the heart of it all...
A hub of hubris and disdain
Safe..., behind walls of ice and stone.
No portcullis to the any
No way in, and no way out
A place for a mind to rest easy
Bears upon the battlements
