So sad, but I had to do it. Mighty oaks, but too close to the house...

It hurts. Yes I'm a tree hugger. And this hurts doubly as they were my mom's trees. She loved trees, hence why my four acres of woods stands alone as I am enveloped by development. I just heard a guy outside yelling "she's a big girl!" 😂

I grew up in this house. Since I acquired it after her passing and her husband-thing surrending lifetime rights. Which I'm surprised he did, he loved using and mistreating my mom. It was because he was letting the house fall apart.

Almost everything has been fixed, replaced and upgraded except for a few jobs I can do myself. He was supposed to maintain it but I believe I have already regaled you with stories of how he left the house 🤢

These guys outside are cracking me up. You learn to laugh through the immense pain things can be. And at this point I'm too proud of the home I've created. And unfortunately too afraid of giant trees falling on the house... So here we are. Not too bad.

I love my trees too, and the big sycamore i keep cutting back each year because limbs smack against the house. With each violent storm I become more afraid of it falling on the house, planted it with my children first year here. And a pin oak. Both spectacular now. I planted this one too close though.

I have 40 acres, a lot of woods, i should've planted closer to the edge of yard that goes to my woods.

I hate the thought of letting it go. Son moved away. Now thinking of tree going
@Bexsy it does get scary during storms. There's always an element of, is today the day? Trees do fall.

I like to think of it as, they were getting up in age, their big canopies stealing sunlight from smaller, younger trees. Now they will get more sunlight and have a shot at greatness 😊

I'm sorry though lady. I'm sorry your son moved away. Major ouchies. But he will keep growing and he still has his roots 🖤
@MarbleMarvel so true 🖤

I planted a lilac in the back yard area and put a butterfly bench. It's for my mom. She loved lilacs. Maybe something like her favorite thing in their place?

@Bexsy I was thinking maybe I'll paint the stumps 😂 or now with all this sunlight, a bigger garden.
@MarbleMarvel good idea
