An old growth tree stands in a secondary forest [I Love Trees]

To stand before something so old and stoic is humbling.

I LOVE trees! I used to live in CA and would go camping out in the redwoods. I've been places there you can't go to anymore. Recently one of the oldest trees there fell, it was The Pioneer Cabin tree. This iconic and still living tree - the tunnel tree - enchanted many visitors...you could drive right through it. @Peaches Lucky you! 🍀🍀 🤗
@Peaches the California redwoods are high on my bucket list. To camp beneath them must be a magic experience.
I saw the news of the tunnel tree going down. I've marveled at pictures of it all my life and hearing that news made me feel like a tiny piece of me died.
