I Love Trees

Hours spent, acres and acres of leaves picked up and moved to where they can replenish the soil. Then I look up and these two; maple and Oak, young and strong, mocking. Every leaf waiting to be released. First frost? nope; wind gusts? Still clinging; nature鈥檚 timing? I think not.

They wait and watch until tractor, trailer and rakes are back in the barn and smugly I count the job complete. Now the release, timed to add a snag to the plan. Two rebellious teenagers. 馃檪

Sorry to tell you this but you're the one out of synch here. The trees are just doing what they have & always will do. You'll have to wait until the snow falls for the job to be completed. Then it's repeated again next year. The fun never stops, lol.

@nowic2 lol. So I鈥檓 not in control? Oak leaves always wait for December here. The maple is an autumn blaze that has surprised me, but it鈥檚 worth it.

@trackman11 lol. I'm surprised you made that a question rather than a statement. Those damn leaves have a mind of their own, don't they. They both look like very fine, healthy trees that will be dropping leaves for years to come. It's a shame about our need to be neat isn't it. All the best.

@nowic2 that they do. Have a great day.
