Whenever she had any family drama, my to-be wife went to Portugal for a break away from things. She'd go with her big sister or her auntie. Clear her head, get some sea breeze, get some sun.
When we got together, and she was still underage (She was 15 and I was in my 30's) she decided to take me there. Nothing sexual, other than kissing. I wanted to make sure she was 'legal' before we got to that.
Love the place. Warm friendly beaches, warm friendly people. Bit hard to get vegetarian food, being by the sea and their main diet is fish-based...but still.
We go there often. Different places around the country, but always end up by the sea.
Sitting on the beach, glass of wine handy...holding hands...looking out..over the sunset.
