Went to the strawberry farm today

Those hard things in the supermarket with the white centers have nothing in common with what comes out of the local fields.

Once grew strawberries, when I was a kid, with the help of my father. The stores often pick them not quite ripe. It takes a while, after they turn red, before they are ripe.
