Hard to believe that summer 2023 will be over in a little more than a week. This summer was unique. Changes in our family dynamic with our oldest child moving out. My nephew got married at the end if August leading to a late summer vacation , which was pretty memorable.

Summer was when I used to visit my parents in their New England home. Summer was when my parents would often rent a house on a lake in New Hampshire, and I would learn how to row a boat. Summer meant visiting the mountains, the beach, or extended family. Summer used to seem so long, so hot, so humid.

Now summers go by so quickly. I have many fond memories of summer. This year too. Goodbye summer 2023, it's been real.

I voted No, overall it was one of the summers with the fewest good memories. The god times were the times I spent with my son And one fun night out. Other than that it dragged and I had stress, unpleasantness.

@Stuffy Thanks for your honesty. Sorry you didn't have more good times.

@OverTheHill I still have hope for happier times in the future.
This has easily been the worst summer of my life, on several levels.
But that only makes me look forward to next summer even more, to make up for it.

@robingoodfellow Sorry it has been a bad one for you. This too shall pass. Glad you are looking for positive changes ahead.

@robingoodfellow want to tell us your plans for how next summer will be better?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Health issues ruined plans for a road trip this summer, which I was looking forward to. Oh well.
OverTheHill · 56-60, M
@cherokeepatti Have an alternate date for the road trip planned?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@OverTheHill no, not yet
OverTheHill · 56-60, M
@cherokeepatti Hopefully sooner than later.

I had to vote no. Tough times really hit this year.
