I Love Summer

his eyes came on
like a heat-wave in August
all sultry and becoming
begging my dahlias
to bloom once
more

and I unfolded
hoping he could be
my sweet Indian summer
the one who would shield
autumns frost from
my door

I know. I love summer. I can always cool off but can't stay warm. Probably all in my head lol. We're having bad storms here. October and we have a tornado, hail, and high wind. What fun 😒

We've had some mild winters here the past few years. Even then it doesn't get bad. Just cold and windy. Not much snow. @HotMessExpress102
