Nope, it’s 42 degrees right now and the temperatures are dropping, rain will move in eventually today. It was in the 70’s yesterday and no wind, very pleasant but there wasn’t much to do in the yard so I went shopping instead.
@cherokeepatti we'll be mowing ours on Monday.

@Musicman It’ll be back in the 70’s on Monday here.
@cherokeepatti When do you have to start mowing your lawn in the spring?

@Musicman Probably be in a few weeks if we get enough rain. We get a lot of henbit in the spring and that needs to be mowed down since it grows faster than the grass. It eventually dies off so it doesn’t need to be sprayed. Last year I mowed one time after chemo was finished. We had a large patch of wild violets in the back yard and I mowed them all down. It was the most beautiful aroma when I did that. They didn’t come back and that made me wish I had saved some of them. I had never seen wild violets here before. The year before we had a lot of wild cleaver weeds, never had those before. It’s kind of strange how new weeds pop up like that.
@cherokeepatti That's not bad then. 🙂

@Musicman a few years ago we had record rains here, we got 27 inches of rain in April alone. I had a rain gauge and was watching the weather and how much they said we got. We got at least 10 inches more than Oklahoma City. And more than they said Norman got. They measure the rainfall on the west side of town and I live on the east side. If I hadn’t been measuring the rain each day and writing it down on my calendar I wouldn’t have known. In the years before the east side was getting much less rain than the west side. We’d get a sprinkle when they got an inch or so over there. I don’t know why that pattern was.
@cherokeepatti Wow! It definitely pays to track that stuff yourself.

@Musicman I did because we had gotten short-changed on rain so many years even after the drought was over. It rained so much that May that a beaver came into town one day…flooded streams and rivers caused it.
@cherokeepatti Oh wow! That is a lot of rain.
