The trees are wilting

There's been so little rain and so much air pollution the trees aren't so much shedding their leaves as they are turning a yellow brown and losing leaves like a poorly cared for house plant. I notice the branches are drooping in a weird looking way. Yesterday I swear this one tree looked like an old person with a hunch back about to fall over.

We are dead and this is Hell.

We humans have been pretty damn poor stewards of the Earth. We need to change our ways ASAP. There is no planet B. Mother Earth is our one and only home, so we had better take much better care of her.

SAVE THE EARTH

@badminton It is already too late to prevent climate catastrophe and has been since before I was I old enough to vote. The best we can hope for is to mitigate the intensity and shorten the duration. It will take a global effort.

I doubt we as a species are capable of following through. I expect life as we know it to be over in another decade or two.

A lot of people are going to die and a lot more are going to suffer to a greater degree than people of the past few generations.

What is the saying? To paraphrase:

When you've chopped down all the trees, poisoned all the water, and polluted the air you will realize: you can't eat money.

@Doomflower I agree it is too late to avoid destructive effects of climate change. What the govts of the world need to do ASAP is drastically cut carbon emissions and plant as many trees as possible.

@badminton planting trees is a drop in the bucket. Many planting projects fail due to poor planning.

As I said... it is far too late. The nations will not pull together on this and that is why humanity as we know it is utterly doomed.

@hunkalove At least here in So.Ca. we had some rain today. We are still in the midst of the worst drought in about a hundred years. Dang!

We were there in August, then the rains came and most plants went nice lush green again.
