My first snow day EVER!

I am recently living in a drastically different weather environment than I did before. I had always lived in significantly warmer winter states compared to where I am now, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

I went for a walk earlier. That was cool. I think I will adjust fine.

Well, actually, it had snowed some other days but not like this. So I consider this my first official snow day! ⛄

Yeah, that's nothing. It's when snow falls off your roof and block your view out the window, and you gotta dig a tunnel to your neighbors house to check up on them, and when you tear up from the cold it freezes to your face is when you get to say you are adjusting fine.

You slip on the ice and bust your phone yet?

@Dignaga Wow *gulp* No, I haven't experienced that yet. Thanks for the warning. Well, if I can survive these winter months, I'll stay a while.
@Milwaki414 Go buy a snow shovel and a big bag of salt now, and get some of those hand warmers.

You can also order some ice grippers off amazon.

I always keep some handy in my car door incase I step outside and decide my shoe traction isn't enough.

Always carry a tobaggan and thin wool gloves in your jacket, and don't ever, ever, ever touch metal with your bare hands in freezing temperatures. You'll get contact frostbite, and might have to have it amputated (I've seen a guy lose both hands fixing a flat tire, and another just momentarily brushed aluminum HVAV outdoors our barracks when he was pushed backwards in Alaska and got frostbite on his arm for 6 months.

Pay attention to wind chill advisories for how long to be outdoors, and in extreme cold don't wear plastic like glasses on your face, or earings or nose rings.

Others live in cold weather on this site so ask questions in other winter threads as the season progresses. Have fun.
