Years ago we had relatives near Paul's Valley OK and as I remember, every Thanksgivings celebration there was interrupted by a blizzard.

@Heartlander How long ago was that? I don’t remember many blizzards here. The last blizzard was in 2009 on Christmas Eve. We also had a few huge dumps of snow in previous years, about 18-19 inches of snow then. And a more recent snow in the month of February. We seem to have more ice storms than snow storms.

@cherokeepatti Thinking back to trace how and when the family moved around, probably 30+ years ago. Also remember once getting snowbound in Emporia, KS for almost a week one November, like 40+ years ago. So bad that we had to abandon the car there and take the train to get out of town there.
I well remember one Oklahoma Thanksgiving storm as one of the most treacherous ever. We were there for the long weekend with bad warnings about what's going to happen on Monday or Tuesday of the week after. But then on Thanksgiving the bad news, It's gonna be here on Sunday! So the conversation "Uhhh, maybe we should leave tomorrow morning (Friday) so we can get ahead of it."
It arrived on a Friday afternoon. I-35 glazed over, and interstate traffic slowed to 30 mph. Anyone who tried faster became a warning for anyone who thought likewise.

@Heartlander I remember a Thanksgiving storm in 1975. I think that was the winter when we had snow on the ground for 6 weeks because before all of it could melt here comes another one.

One place got over 15 feet of snow. The spring thaw is going to be something else if this keeps up.
i guess that it wont be today that the earth goes up in flames. LOL
