I Love Sitting Around a Camp Fire

While I do love campfires, we need to be really careful to extinguish them when done. We are in our fourth week of dealing with a fire in our county, just almost twenty miles away from us that started with a camp fire and is now over 70,000 acres. Word says that it could grow to over 100,000 acres before completely controlled. In town here, we are inundated with smoke and ash. The photo I am posting is one taken yesterday where we can barely see a block ahead. The fire is now about to hit our beloved Big Sur, and almost burned out our boy scout camp as it burned it's surrounding mountains. Many of our neighbors have been evacuated and 57 homes have been burned down. Over 5,000 fire fighters around the state, and neighboring states have come into town to help with the efforts.

All because of one little camp fire. So, please, be careful.

Hi Cricket ... I echo that ...experience has shown me few people understand fire physics ... we all need to take a sense of responsibility and stop making believe, since we know how to light a match, that we are the next Davy Crockett
Those are some bright glasses
