It's really nice living in a quiet neighborhood

It's not really a neighborhood I guess, it's a cluster of tiny houses on private land, but with real addresses. Don't ask me how that works, it just is what it is. Landlord only wants quiet, responsible, respectful people renting his units. I love that, it's nice to be part of a pleasant environment like this

I have that peace in this lower level apartment of an old two story farm house. Of course I can hear the upstair neighbors walking on my ceiling sometimes but that's no issue. There are only houses on this side of the street spaced well apart and a field across the street.

@come2gether Yes. I was incredibly lucky to find this place when my work division was closed and my house was up for short sale. It's cheap rent because I'm basically paying 1/2 a house rent. I got a large 3 month severance and my 401 tax free so I prepaid a year advance rent to snag it because I was still looking for work. Now retired I have recovered from all the financial damage my X did to me. I was able to pay for everything without Vickie having to work and am better off financially than I have ever been. It just sucks I'm doing it alone now. Vickie made this little place into a home.

@come2gether Thank you. We were in a way a gift to each other however I believe her last year's with me were meant to be because she had such a sh-tty life before yet found happiness in every day she could. She was happy everyday from the day I picked her up in that rented van in Alabama and headed here driving all night Christmas eve. The trip itself was a happy one with many quiet stops. It was like there wasn't a soul on the road except us.
