I Love Taking Care of My Plants

A few years ago I planted strawberry seeds and now I have two strawberry plants that give us strawberries every year. This year I have also planted apple seeds, orange seeds, raspberry seeds and cucumber seeds. I hope to be able to have plenty of fruit trees and bushes around. I also have a lot of roses in my garden and a few tulips. I love to water them and to watch them grow taller

It sounds wonderful. There is nothing as good as food from plants you've grown yourself. I love my little garden.

Would you consider growing a Damson plum tree?

I would, however not for my benefit as I don't actually eat plums. I'd grow them for others to enjoy though. Food is so much better homegrown and home made

@randompi: Damson plums are not for eating fresh. Fresh they taste like cardboard. They are, however, the very best plums for jam and jelly making. When cooked, they have incredible flavor and a deep rich purple red color. These trees are disappearing everywhere. Home canners like me have a hard time finding them.

I've never actually made jelly from scratch, I usually just buy it. I have made yoghurt with fruit that I've grown

@randompi: Homemade preserves are a wonderful hobby and not really that hard to make. If you are in the USA and you plant a Damson plum tree, could we stay in touch? If you plant a Damson plum tree, I'd like to eventually pick some plums!

Ah, I live in Britain so it would be quite difficult

@randompi: Darn...and you couldn't legally ship them into California. I guess I had better keep looking. I'd grow it myself but I live in a rooming house in one room so I'm really lucky to have the little garden I do have.
