Herbs- Feverfew

Feverfew has anti-inflammatory properties and has traditionally been used for arthritis, joint pain, headaches and to manage migraines.
Science is still split over the migraines, but there are people who swear by it.

Some people refer to it as Medieval Aspirin.

It can be made into tea, the flavor is bitter so most people combine it with other herbs like peppermint or lemon balm.

Folklore

Anglo-Saxons used it in folk magic to cure the sudden stabbing pains they called Elf Shot.

Planting feverfew near doorways was believed to purify the air and provide physical protection.

Much of the European folklore of feverfew made it to Appalachia where it became a cornerstone kitchen remedy and an herb for protection against bad luck and evil spirits.

I find feverfew grows easily without fuss. Drought and flooding rains haven't bothered it, and it spreads. It's good for attracting pollinators and beneficial insects.
