I bought some hyacinths last week. The bulbs are in a bowl. Forced though. Their flowers will be limited.
Best to buy them as bulbs in the autumn, in your own compost. Keep moist in a dark cool place, covered with newspaper. When they begin to shoot in December, put them in a cool place, water from a saucer, remove the paper.
They will mature slowly and give full bloom.

Hyacinth plants and hyacinth beans are two completely different things @peterlee

@scorpiolovedeep Thanks , I looked them up. The word hyacinth, refers to two unrelated plants. Hence my confusion.
