Do you ever rescue plants?

Today at the supermarket, they had punnets of 6 tomato seedlings that had not been watered and had died. There was one little wilted one that I put in a tissue and took home, as they would have only thrown him in the bin. Now he has a nice new home on the sunny kitchen windowsill and is starting to perk up. In another month, when the frosts are gone, I'll plant him outside.

Yes I do, quite often. Only I just don't take them. Even if they're dying, they still want to sell them. I always check with the manager first and ask if they're going to throw it away or if I can buy it off them. I have had them tell me that it's for sale and they just don't give them away. They usually won't give them away, but I'd rather pay a few bucks than see them throw it away. I don't want to just take them without asking.
