Nice pots and plants, you get addicted we ended up with more than 50 pots filled with plants it took a hr to water them all everyday, trying to cut back was using to much water and time

@Barny52 [c=BF0080]Thanks! And wow, that鈥檚 a lot!! They do take a lotta water and believe it or not, I use bottled water for all my veggie/herb plants. The tap water here will kill them, but the regular front plants hold up with the tap water. [/c]

@MellyMel22 yep tap water kills very young plants and some others don鈥檛 like it but most are fine with it, we don鈥檛 use it but collect rain water in barrels from our roof then just top them up with tap water in very dry weather that way the tap water stands for a while which is better for plants

@Barny52 [c=BF0080]That鈥檚 good! We have hard water here and it鈥檚 really bad. [/c]

@MellyMel22 and temp of water makes a difference the cold tap water shocks plants
MellyMel22F
@Barny52 [c=BF0080]I never thought of that, but it makes sense. [/c]

@MellyMel22 it鈥檚 why i let tap water stand for 24hrs before using it on plants . Trying more succulents this yr think they look good and only need water every couple of weeks
MellyMel22F
@Barny52 [c=BF0080]I wish I could use my tap water too.. I had aloe plants that were so big and full and the chipmunks started attacking them every single day. They calmed a bit when I put some citrus air fresheners sticking to the outside of the pots. [/c]

@MellyMel22 our problems with slugs and snails , why can鈥檛 you use tap water its safe for you to drink, we even use washing up water after we鈥檝e done with it, soap suds and all, some plants we only use rain water like bamboo
MellyMel22F
@Barny52 [c=BF0080]I have hard water and it鈥檚 not safe to drink [/c]
Barny5256-60, M
@MellyMel22 really we also have hard water we get lime scale in kettle and have a filter on boiler to stop that scaling up but can still drink it yours must be very bad
