@GoFish Well my Mother is 97 so yes having a plan is a good idea and having some say in it is even better...... Toronto is a crazy place. The large Jewish cemetery way north of the city is full. The next choice is a newer cemetery that is essentially a farmers field and its not exactly a nice place (I am being polite) .. The Synagogue we joined opened our cemetery in 1910 before the synagogue was constructed because it was needed..Back in the day the procession was by foot following a horse drawn herse wagon.... I have suggested that we use the synagogue for funeral services putting the casket under a tent in the side yard during the service inside the shul... . Burial spaces inside this city are solid gold .. no one has them. It make it very convenient for our family to visit and it happens to be a beautiful place loaded with traditions... it reminds me of a the dream scene from Fidler on the roof... and I knew people who are now buried there.. Funny is a neighbour of my Mothers family are mostly buried in an adjoining section to ours and that is where she will go - very close to where our spots are.. so we will continue to be neighbours..in the future.. I am good with this, I actually feel privileged to have this aspect under control and know where we are going...
