Desantis' 'Great Outdoor Initiative' plans to add hotels, golf courses and pickle ball courts to 9 Florida state parks

Because there's not enough of all that in Florida already.
He basically wants to make state parks Nature Resorts. With the emphasis on Resorts with the participation of private companies and business.
The everglades has already shrunk to 50% it's original size thanks to human involvment. I guess some people won't be happy until the ecological masterpiece that is Florida is nothing but condos, hotels and ashphalt.

As you probably know, this plan of his is not at all a surprising one. DeSantis has tried to promote the image of doing a lot to preserve Florida's natural places, but he's had an abysmal environmental record from the start.

I hope very much that all the voices in opposition to his terrible plan, from those of all political affiliations, will be able to stop it. For sure, many of us will try.
