I Love Nature

I'm looking forward to continuing my new garden project for 2023. Basically our garden is a big space, and the big area at the bottom is more or less abandoned after it used to have lots of trees. My family decided to cut some of the trees down to allow longer hours of sun in the garden. But that spot, with a vanishing pathway covered in long grass, and soil, i have dugout an area to put in a pond. Hopefully a wildlife pond, something we've never had before. And having ordered gravel, and pond liner too..i am looking to preferably border it with pebble stones for any animals, be it amphibians or insects that would like to perch on them. I also want to introduce plants that bring oxygen and naturally filter the pond such as horntwort,... and maybe plant marsh grasses like cattails, or horsetail, along with brooklime, and waterlilies. If anything were to inhabit the pond, I would love to continue my wildlife photography from my local park (below) but in my own garden. Around the pond I'm looking at putting in "Buddleja Davidii" (Butterfly bush)....given that name because it is abundant with many species of butterfly in the summer, and I'm also looking to plant sunflowers. Over in the corner I'm looking to just have a random log pile for extra animal habitat, good for insects, hedgehogs, or frogs. And last but not least, a bat box onto the side of our garage near the ivy under the trees..Should everything go smoothly I can then put natural stepping platforms in (so as not to step on any flowerbeds)..and im not looking to put an actual bench in..perhaps a fallen tree trunk, or hollow tree for animals to crawl through and as a platform to sit on (keep it natural looking as poss). Overall I hope to continue this photography in my own garden 2023 >>>>
