The only thing I missed ever since the pandemic occurred has been hiking!

I love nature and I love the calmness it brings me. I used to spend a lot of time being outside, either hiking and exploring new areas or finding a quiet spot where I could read and relax my mind. It brought me clarity and it grounded me. Ever since the pandemic, my phone usage has increased dramatically and I can already notice the consequences, both physical, emotional as well as mental and spiritual. Fortunately, things in my country have improved and the situation is becoming more stable. With that being said, I really look forward to going out more this summer, for my sanity's sake haha!

I was fortunately able to do that last summer and managed to summit three mountains, plus a pinnacle and a number of long hikes. (There's winter where I am and I hate hiking in snow and I've so haven't yet gotten back to it this year, lol.). At first it was rough because some of the trails had parking restrictions, and then everyone and their grandmother decided they would want to try hiking. That made it rough to park on some of the regular trails, but once I got in, I was able to avoid crowded trails by picking the most difficult (uphill) one, lol. The 4000 foot mountain, for some reason, didn't draw those same crowds. 🤣
pretty sure when pandemic hit they told people to get outside tho.

@undetermined No, I'm European. People in my country specifically had a full lockdown and weren't allowed to go out *at all*, they introduced curfew after as a "lighter" measure. Like I said my country is stable now and people are allowed to move freely yet again, but we did have a rather depressive period.

@undetermined Unfortunately, my country's economy and health care system isn't the best, so it's understandable that drastic measures like this had to be introduced so that things don't escalate.
@Originalme which country is that? ive had fights with people on here about covid in europe as they said they didnt do much for a lockdown or that their healthcare system could handle it.

Same 😌 we like to go to the cliff tops but we’re unable too! Can’t wait to get out and about properly again

@GLITTER You guys really do have amazing cliffs. The biggest reason for having the UK on my travel list is for the cliffs alone haha. You're lucky to be living there.

@Originalme I know that all too well! We have some beautiful areas of natural beauty

@DeluxedEdition Because we weren't allowed to go outside at all, duh :) Thank you for contributing with your comment though.
