What's the most bone-chilling sound you've heard in nature?

It's a tie, for me, between a tornado and a pack of wolves howling.

1. The tornado was approaching our home, where we had taken cover in the hallway. It destroyed our home and killed my neighbors.

2. I was at the gate of a national park at 5am, waiting for the park to open. It was still completely dark outside, and I was sitting at a nearby picnic table with some other people. The wolves were very close when they started up.

The howling of a coyote, right down the street.

@Indy74 Ooh, that's a good one too! I just remembered a time I was camping in a friend's woodland yard, and we were all woken up by a pack of coyotes howling and yelping. We found out the next day they were in a neighbor's yard, hunting their chickens.

@Indy74 I have so many coyotes at my house. They come up on my porch and eat the food I leave out for them.

@FaeLuna yep, they are right down the street at the park.

@ArtyFischel isn't that a little scary??

@FaeLuna I've been surrounded by a pack of coyotes in the woods, and they showed little interest in me.

@Indy74 If they hear me, they take off. I have a security camera on my porch, and I get notifications all night. 😄
