I was near the Rideau River the other day at a clients house and was watching as the ice chunks were being carried away by the rapid current. It was such a beautiful sight to see that I was able to get a few great pics.

@Byron8by7 Fortunately on that part of the river they aren't at risk and they are on a hill so hopefully safe. It's the houses further down river that usually are affected. Last year was a dreadful year for massive flooding and some people lost their homes.
I noticed the close proximity to the river right away. I used to live in a city that was devastated by a catastrophic flood. My home did not flood, but several of my friends lost their homes. I now live several hundred miles from there.
@Byron8by7 You are fortunate that you have never been afflicted or affected by that. It was the worst flooding in 100 years last year in parts of ON and Quebec. Sadly most had built their homes and cottages on existing flood plains suffering irreparable loss and total devastation. While others had flooded basements. It was a very sad and tragic thing to see and hear about.
