I Love Nature

And I guess nature thinks that's a huge joke.......

Believe it or not, I got these from google images. I didn't create them. There are actual articles that go with them. Are they real? Or some clever artist playing with us?

:) the volcano looks photoshopped
Serenitree · F
@SW-User I thought so too. But

An erupting volcano in Hawaii was all smiles last week – and no, it wasn’t a Disney animation.

The lava of Kilauea, a shield volcano on Hawaii’s biggest island, appeared to form a smiley face as it erupted. The volcano has been active since 1983, with lava emerging from the Pu‘u ‘O‘o vent. As the smile appeared, lava from the volcano reached the Pacific Ocean for the first time in three years, according to CNN.

The video was taken from a helicopter by Mick Kalber of Tropical Visions Video last Tuesday.

This wasn’t the first time such a symbol has been found in nature.

After hunting I found that the second one is from Disney Pixar short film, Lava. But there is a true story behind it

Real or fake.... i like them particularly the bottom one
Serenitree · F
@SW-User Here's another real happy face found in nature. The happy face spider. It's not a joke and not photoshopped.

Serenitree · F
Did you know that there are several spiders and insects that have what looks like a face on them?
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
Wow... I think the second one has to be fake. Idk.
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
@sarabee1995 Oh okay, just read the comments. 👍

Pareidolia....
Serenitree · F
@kayoshin Oh, I just believed what I read when I looked it up. I'd never heard the word before.

Researchers at the NTT Communication Science Laboratories in Tokyo, Japan, conducted a study that revealed pareidolia, or the phenomenon of seeing faces in inanimate shapes and objects, is a feature found in neurotic people.Jul 20, 2015
kayoshin · 41-45, M
It's a feature in all people. Might be exaggerated in neurotic or paranoid people. Think about emojis for example, if pareidolia wasn't a common feature onlu neurotic people would see them as faces and the rest would not know what to make of them.
Serenitree · F
@kayoshin right. My mom used to get so frustrated when someone couldn't see the face in the jungle on her living room drapes. She got a permanent marker and drew it clearly, so everyone could see it. She was so funny. I miss her.
