We Had A Tornado Here On My Side Of The City Sunday Night & No One Is Calling For Donations Of Anything…

Churches are offering things to the storm victims, one big nearby church is giving free lunches, Salvation Army sent a food truck out in the neighborhood offering meals, and churches are giving supplies to those who need it. The city officials & police said on the first day they didn’t need anything yet but if they need donations they will put it out on their website for people to donate. This is the good thing about living here. We take care of our own to the best of our ability and if a call for donations is put out it gets met quickly.

Hearing y’all had a tornado is a bad thing.

Hearing that everyone in your area cares for one another is a good thing!

@specman Disasters can either bring out the best in people or the worst in people. Mostly the best here. Sometimes we will have metal scrappers trying to get the scraps but the police have it pretty well guarded, was asking for ID for those entering or leaving the affected neighborhoods. And volunteer groups usually have their members wearing matching t-shirts to make identifying them much easier. If there was a call for donations of goods I have no doubt that there would be so much that they couldn’t use it all.
