I spent my entire weekend hiking

And my house is still a mess…
Talk about shirking my responsibilities.
I did however get the rest of the videos from yesterday up. The 2 video posts are pinned on my profile and easy to find for anyone that feels like wasting 10 or so minutes watching them.

Anywho…, yesterday was one of the most amazing hikes I’ve ever had. If you knew how much hiking and climbing I’ve done since I was 15, you’d understand how powerful that statement is. You’d understand how glorious it was for me to get back out into real wilderness and find a trail that goes up.

Today was a very good day at a very popular place. There were no less than 100 people at the top when I was there.
I took the long way up and hiked for 5 miles to get there as I avoided the more popular trails on old Mt Wachusett. I was luck enough to only see 2 people the entire climb before reaching the summit and finding it crawling with humans of all types.

Below you’ll find the pictures I took while I was out there today.

New England in the Fall is a pretty place, even if my pictures do it no justice.

I wish I could do that I’ve only gone hiking twice this whole year.

@Lostpoet I wish you could do this too.
If you had you’d be feeling all amazingly tired as you soak in a hot bath right now…

@scorpiolovedeep Nature and the wilderness and having those things envelope you…, it’s just good for your soul and mind.

@Quimliqer Thank you, Sir.
I appreciate that.

I love seeing the leaves changing color. That is the one thing I really miss about living in Virginia.

@Musicman I call myself Hikingman here because I love to hike and I have hiked and climbed all types of things.

You call yourself Musicman here.
Do you play an instrument or two? Are you a composer of music? Or do you simply enjoy music?
Or perhaps you feel like your voice is musical???
Maybe you just thought it makes a cool screen name because the real screen name you wanted was taken…

😆

@HikingMan I play the guitar and bass guitar. I make a decent backup singer, but definitely not a lead singer. I do love listening to music too. I have tried composing, but never had fabulous success.

Do you prefer a hiking boot or shoe? What brand do you like?
HikingMan · 56-60, M
@Musicman Definitely boots for New England. The varying terrain here calls for a vibram sole.

I own 2 pairs of hiking boots that I’ve owned for over 10 years. They only get worn on hikes and see no other use.

One set is a tough and insulated winter climbing boot that is made to be used with clip on snowshoes and crampons.

The other is a 3 season heavy duty, but under insulated all terrain hiker.
Both have vibram soles but the winter ones are far thicker and solid with very little flex in the sole. Made that way on purpose so when you kick your toes into the ice the whole foot becomes supported as if it’s on a board.

I forget right now exactly what the brand names are.
Age…

I always wanted to learn guitar but never really found the time.
And, I don’t think musical composition is about success. Maybe give it another go and just feel it first and then write it down second.
Tell you what, you compose something original and you can take any of my rhymes or even multiple rhymes you can mash together for lyrics and use them however you want.
