... and just like that, I feel at peace again.

That is beautiful. I live in the middle of an acreage that is surrounded by a wooded area and then bordering that is a forest. I feel at home because of the surroundings and if there were no home or barn there it would still be home and my place of peace. I understand the peace you describe well.

@Fungirlmmm yes! That is exactly what I mean. It is my go to place whenever I am feeling overwhelmed and it never fails me. I return centered and at peace.

@TimeStandingStill That is important. I get there with meditation and yoga too. I love meditating in the woods, but I also like to climb trees so I might not be a good example. :)

@Fungirlmmm I don't meditate, I should. I have for hours before. I once read something that makes a lot of sense to me, from Buddhist literature, if you develop a deep meditative state, you can meditate doing anything, thus you could be hanging from a tree :)

@Fungirlmmm I understand about the climbing part lol. I often find myself straying off trails and climbing the rocks back up 😁. Great way to release negative energy.

@SW-User I think I may be too wound up to meditate. Cant ever be still long enough.
Fungirlmmm · 51-55, F
@TimeStandingStill Exactly. I would rather be outside than in any day.

@TimeStandingStill I'm always wound up somehow, that's why I don't. ;-)

@TimeStandingStill instead of being still do your hiking but mindfully do it. Allow yourself your internal dialogue but focus it on letting go of whatever is troubling you. Breath in peace exhale negativity. Breathe deeply as you walk but pay attention and breath in peace...Exhale hard the negativity.

@Fungirlmmm exactly. I always seem to leave the negativity by the river, taking away all the peace that it brings me.

@TimeStandingStill :) I'm blessed.
