There’s nothing like waking up at 3am and still being awake to see the morning light hit the back of your curtains.

Hours of being able to chill in bed with the pup. Part trying to retain the peacefulness by stopping the rampant overthinking. Part scrolling to provide the distraction needed in my desperation just to get addicted to the stellar flow of content Insta’s algorithm actually got right for a change. And then finally hitting the level of sleepy that’s been eluding me moments before it’s time to get up. That’s how I chose to kick off my day.

But eh. It’s Friday, which is pretty cool for a lot of people so maybe the vibes out there will be decent. And there’s the opportunity for me to take a rainy weather nap later should a crash be needed. So honestly, the suckage could be worse. But I’m certainly not embracing the suck as well as the fisherman’s wife in @Harmonium1923’s recent post.

…sorta envious of her though. Her being able to handle that level of suckage with “grace” that is. I’m not aspiring to become the female version of The Deep or anything.

At times I have to turn on the tv, muted, just to break the thought cycle.

@Quimliqer That’s a good way to do it. I fall asleep with it muted and the captions on while playing a comfort show. It helps dozing off but not necessarily when I wake up later on.
