Anyone remember the great Alaskan Earthquake in 1964?

Although we lived close to Alaska at the time we never felt anything, however my mother in law insisted that there was a crack in the wall of her house that resulted from the quake. I do know that it was massive 9.2 and it was really brought home when I met a young Alaskan who was injured when the car he was a passenger in came to a crashing halt when the street gave out from under his dad's car.

I wasn’t there either, but remember vividly the photos in the newspapers and in magazines!!

How amazing is that! I know of it only through our geological history, if you will. Quite a famous earth-shaker, it was only 4.5 minutes and the most powerful in North America ever recorded! 🤯

Sadly, the Frontier State is long overdue for another. And it will likely be bad.
