Son sent me a text asking if I felt the earthquake.

I did some investigation and found out that there had been two earthquakes about 10 minutes apart 240 miles away. The strongest shake was 5.3. I didn't feel a thing although someone else close by said that they did feel it. Kind of funny as this area is not prone to earthquakes.

Fracking ?

@LegendofPeza No. Natural earthquakes one at 4 kms down and the other at 2 kms down. Fracking does not cause earthquakes.

@LegendofPeza You live in a science free world. There is no such thing as an earthquake caused by fracking.

@hippyjoe1955 Can't you read ?

"Western Canada has experienced a few moderate-sized fracking earthquakes with magnitudes up to about 4.5, but they mostly occurred in remote locations far from major human settlements. And even in western Canada, only about one in 300 fracking operations causes earthquakes large enough for a person to feel.

It's a different story in China, however. Several recent studies have shown that the fracking boom that began in about 2014 is triggering destructive earthquakes in formerly tranquil parts of China's Sichuan basin. For example, a magnitude 4.7 earthquake on Jan. 28, 2017, a magnitude 5.7 on Dec. 16, 2018, and a magnitude 5.3 on Jan. 3, 2019 were all caused by fracking, according to published research. The 2018 earthquake injured 17 people and damaged more than 390 houses, nine of which collapsed."

@LegendofPeza causation is lacking.. There were earthquakes in this area long before fracking. Nice of you to play the good again

@LegendofPeza and if you think that is sufficient to cause a 5.8 quake I have some ocean front property in northern Saskatchewan for sale.

@ElwoodBlues Still the silly cut and paste and thinking that such proves a lie has been told? Really. Sorry old sod but that is so foolish is is getting deleted. If you have facts then present them. If not you confirm that you are a lying nazi.

@LegendofPeza The official account is that this was a naturally occuring earthquake. Earthquakes happen. Fracking is not the cause. Fear porn is a powerful weapon and silly people like you get drawn into it all the time.
