I’m commenting only to see replies. Have an RV but thinking about a smaller tent for occasional overnights,

Really depends on your own needs. I had to go on a camping trip last year, and got a nice roomy tent for myself. It was comfortable for myself and my camping gear. Take note you will need room for duffle bags etc or other gear in a tent, unless you have your car next to the tent. I did not. So had to keep everything I bought with me.
So how much room do you need?

I tend to buy the largest simple dome tent. I don’t bother with room dividers or canopies. If you need privacy you probably should get them. I prefer the simplicity of a large dome tent. 6-8 person is super comfy for two people to have one or two queen size air mattresses and stuff.
The first one is 16lbs and second is 18. Both too heavy for hiking, way too heavy, but maybe you are not intending to use it for this, or have some guy who can carry it for you. hah.
The separate room thing on the first one would probably be a pain, and another zipper to fail at some point.

Any of those would be good, as long as you're not going to hike with it! Car camping would be ok, get a folding cot so you're off the floor

I like the green one for all that extra space and windows.
For what purpose??? How many you looking to house in there??? Where will it be used???
There's far to many variables that need to be factored in when making a choice.

@HootyTheNightOwl I'm looking to use it in my back yard and to get the best nights sleep everrrr!! And also just to have it on hand whenever me and my husband want to go to the lake, we'll have our tent and I bought our son an 8 man tent for himself last Christmas so the kids have their own tent too!

I like the second one due to the quick set up and taller height

The two main prerequisites for tents are:
2. can you set it up in less than 30 minutes by yourself
1. will it actually fit back into the bag it came in when you take it down...

The "occupancy" rating assumes you pack people in it like sardines...
unless you like spooning /w your camp mates, a 4 person tent is only really big enough for 2...
