Living in a vehicle on bureau of land managent camp spots is lonely

Ive done it. Theres no one but you. No one else nearby is in your shoes. You're the only one. Everyone else is there for recreation, you are there for survival. Sitting there listening to classic heart songs. Mistral wind. Totally utterly alone. Theŕes a high sense of peace but also a sense of complete isolation. It takes a real effort to find small game for food, and to make creek water drinkable. And the gnats are unrelenting. So it might sound easy, but actually doing it is very hard.
I've thought about doing some things to my mini van in order to be able to sleep in it. I wouldn't go as far as subsisting off the land (as it were).

@BrewCityBarfly Its going to be great. My experiences would have been better if I had at least a pet.
@AnnMayonaise I can see where a companion would take away some of the loneliness. My only concern would be ensuring the animal's health and safety. I don't think my older blind dog would work out good.
