I Am Looking Online At Camper Vans….

Mercedes has some nice ones. If I win the Megamillions there will be a shiny new camper van in my driveway. Might have to buy a bigger house with a three vehicle garage to park it in.

I have a Winnebago Solis. It wasn’t near as expensive or tricked out as the Mercedes ones, but it is perfectly livable and a tough ram 3500 van.

Do it!

@AlchemyFox That's fabulous! 🙂🙂🙂🙂 Which chassis is it on? Do you use it often?

@Musicman it’s a promaster 3500 which I love. Ram makes excellent commercial vehicles.

I lived in it full time for almost a year and traveled with my son. It’s my daily driver rn 😂 I will have to sell it once we move and get settled. I want to do my own build next go around. My dad had taught me a lot about cars so I want to restore something then convert it to electric. In high school (my dad also taught auto tech) we built a solar powered car out of an old festiva. I feel we have the technology to make that happen on a van somewhat easily in these days.

I love this van though. We can make camp/home anywhere we go.

@AlchemyFox Yes you can! It looks fabulous! I love that red. 😍 Do you get the chance to use it often?

@Musicman We haven’t camped in it for a few months, but my son and I live near the beach for now. So we can cook, chill, potty, sleep, shower and spend the whole day without needing to leave our parking spot.

The red gets lots of looks 😂

And I always tell people, yes it’s as awesome as you think it is!

@AlchemyFox That's really great 🙂 It sounds like the perfect life. 🙂

@Musicman If i could sustain it and wasn’t a single parent, sure. (The single parent part of van living was rough, it’s why we stopped when we did.) Hence the electric build, that’s my retirement plan 😝

@AlchemyFox Good for you 🙂 We have an RV. Full timing is not for us, but it we were forced to we could.

@Musicman Hey an RV can come in handy even when you aren’t traveling. If your power goes out for any reason you can live in the RV for awhile….really handy for that. And a couple who lives out in the country a couple miles away had their home catch on fire. They had an RV parked out by their barn and stayed in that for over 6 months till they got their home rebuilt.

@cherokeepatti Four years ago we had our AC go out a few days before July 4th. It took a week to get a new unit. The first night we stayed in the house. It was 93 degrees in there. The second night we stayed in the RV and came in the house during the day. By the third day my wife said she was staying in the RV. Lol!!! Instead of cooking in the house we are in restaurants enjoying their AC. Lol!!!

After hurricane Ian the county passed an ordinance saying that if your house was damaged you could park an RV in your front yard and live in it for two years while repairs were being made.
