Camping in silence

It’s interesting to be an observer of all the noise around me. At a camp ground, I hear bikes from the kids all around, crackling wood from my fire, the distant hum of the exhaust from the many trucks that hauled these RVS into the campground. But I haven’t made a sound except for moving around, opening coolers, unzipping the tent to grab a knife to open the hot dogs. But I haven’t spoken. These are the moments that I love. Where I don’t have to come up with something to say.

I never camp in campgrounds . The places I go there is no one around to talk to even if you wanted to. That's one of the great things about living in the western USA we have so much public land available solitude is easy to find. Most times there is not another human within 20-30 miles or more of me.
