Code Red Mountian Dew
I have been drinking Code Red Mountain Dew since my car accident, almost 3 days ago. I haven't had pop in 7 years, and now I have had it for three straight days in a row. It is crazy, but since my accident, I have been craving it. I think I am done drinking it now, though..🤔
I have gotten increasingly angrier and more irritable since my accident, and either it is the pop or a side effect from the concussion. I can't fix any damage done from the concussion. I can stop drinking something I know is terrible for me, though.....Grrrr Grumble grumble...
UPDATE-After researching the ingredients, I find that this was not a smart thing to do. I can't help but wonder with all the increasing anger of late, how many people are drinking soda pop.🤔
Fructose alters hundreds of brain genes, which can lead to a wide range of diseases
The research team sequenced more than 20,000 genes in the rats’ brains, and identified more than 700 genes in the hypothalamus (the brain’s major metabolic control center) and more than 200 genes in the hippocampus (which helps regulate learning and memory) that were altered by the fructose. The altered genes they identified, the vast majority of which are comparable to genes in humans, are among those that interact to regulate metabolism, cell communication and inflammation. Among the conditions that can be caused by alterations to those genes are Parkinson’s disease, depression, bipolar disorder, and other brain diseases, said Yang, who also is a member of UCLA’s

:
Sodium Phosphate Side Effects
Signs of an allergic reaction, like rash; hives; itching; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin with or without fever; wheezing; tightness in the chest or throat; trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Signs of fluid and electrolyte problems like mood changes, confusion, muscle pain or weakness, a heartbeat that does not feel normal, very bad dizziness or passing out, fast heartbeat, more thirst, seizures, feeling very tired or weak, not hungry, unable to pass urine or change in the amount of urine produced, dry mouth, dry eyes, or very bad upset stomach or throwing up.
Chest pain or pressure.
Maybe not a good idea to take this with a diuretic..🤔[/i][/b][/c]
What Is Sodium Benzoate? Everything You Need to Know
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD): A study of college students linked ADHD with higher intake of sodium benzoate in beverages. The additive has also been linked to ADHD in children in some studies (11Trusted Source, 12Trusted Source).

Red dye 40 and behavioral changes
In a 2022 review of 25 studies on red dye 40 and behavioral changes, the authors noted that 64% of those studies (16 out of 25) found some evidence of an association between the two. There are further animal studies that also show a positive association between red dye 40 and behavioral changes.
A 2021 review suggests that there is a link between red 40 and neurobehavioral changes, such as worsening symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). However, the research also suggests that some people may be more sensitive to the effects of red dye 40 than others.
A 2020 reviewTrusted Source suggests that red 40 can trigger behavioral changes in children, including changes associated with ADHD and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Although there is no direct evidence to link red dye 40 to ASD, the research suggests that families of children with ASD typically avoid foods containing red 40 to help avoid behavioral challenges.
Overall, the research suggests that there is some connection between red dye 40 and behavioral changes, particularly in people with ADHD or ASD. However, experts agree there is a need for more research in this area.

The Hidden Dangers of Yellow 5
Hyperactivity and Attention Issues
Perhaps the most controversial aspect of Yellow 5 is its potential link to hyperactivity in children. A landmark 2007 study published in The Lancet found that artificial food colors, including Yellow 5, may increase hyperactive behavior in children.
The study, often referred to as the "Southampton study," was significant enough that the European Food Safety Authority requires foods containing Yellow 5 to carry a warning label stating that the dye "may have an adverse effect on activity and attention in children."
Other Health Concerns
Some research has pointed to additional health concerns, though more studies are needed to establish definitive connections:
Potential immunosuppressive effects
Possible genotoxicity (damage to genetic material)
Thyroid function disruption
Increased cancer risk (though evidence remains limited)
