Update of the Brooder

So after plugging in the heat lamp the shed still wasn't staying as warm as I'd like it for baby chicks. So I added a socket ceramic heater on the opposite side. I'll go out later tonight with the temp gun and recheck it.

As long as theres no drafts, they should hudfle under that light comfortably. I think the ceramic heater would cause too much air movement.
How cold is it outside?

@LunarOrbit directly in the light it's staying ~95° on one side but on the other half of the 4x4 ft area was still down in the 50s. I haven't had problems with the ceramic heater creating drafts before but I'll be on the look out. Right now it's in the low 40s during the day and freezing at night.

@cheyster Yes…better safe than sorry. I raised a few chickens just as a hobby/novelty and the arrival of new chicks was always the most rewarding. Enjoy :)
