We built a greenhouse!

Holy moly, I am amazed by the growth and now I wonder why we didn’t do this long ago!!
When most people are just planting their gardens now, I’ve already been enjoying the kale and lettuces! And my tomatoes!!! Man oh man, they’re going to be monstrous when they start producing. Yummmm

We also have 8 other (4’ x10’) garden beds for our potatoes, carrots, beats, peas etc but I wanted to try growing these as hothouse plants.
In the greenhouse you’ll find peppers, jalapeños, onions, radish, green and yellow beans, kale, arugula, lettuces, cukes, zucchini and a few varieties of tomatoes.
I can’t wait for harvest.

What did you use for the sheeting ?
Did you follow plans or create your own ?
Do they stay up during winter ?

@pdockal it was actually two separate
8.5’ x 12.5’ houses which we put together, so we had to modify a bit of course…the sheeting is polycarbonate sheeting. And yes, it will stay up through the winter. We have been researching and RESEARCHING all the info for some winter gardening.
Of course, we get down to -40°C here, so it might take a couple of seasons to master that haha

You'll probably need heat and some sort of insulation for the winter and maybe a light source as winter days get short

Did you purchase everything @ home depot (or similar)

@pdockal oh yes, we will definitely need those! We’ve been researching a lot about the whole process. We’re excited for the experience! No we bought the greenhouse as a kit, from kijiji…it was a good deal :)
