Can you believe $12.00 per doz. eggs by mid-August?

This was the projection of an agricultural expert who anticipates chicken feed now selling for approx. $60.00 will increase to $400.00 per sack by mid-August. I noticed several huge increases on some grocery items already in early July. Those of us on SS or similar income are facing a real hardship by fall I think.

Let’s hope that doesn’t happen.
@SW-User I agree. I expect some increases have to happen but from three "something" to twelve per dozen is just scary.

Most definitely, eggs are important in our diet. No one will buy them for 12 dollars. I rely on Walmart for the cheapest prices. Aldi is cheaper as well. @Grateful4you
@SW-User I LOVE eggs, Wal-Mart is too far for me, we have a "Grocery Outlet" and Stater Bros. So far, I'm doing okay. I started a food surplus storage two years ago because I knew hard times would hit. It's mostly meat and dairy, produce I'm dependent on.
That is a ridiculous prediction though.
I have seen magarioters trying to blame my good man Joe on inflation but for the life of them they don’t know how.
They just hate he isn’t trump boi.
@Aliveshock I don't blame Joe. He is a kind, empathetic, human. Unfortunately, he just seems to be slowing down and kind of low-energy. Progressives I think need someone a bit more dynamic, a man with integrity he just doesn't ignite much enthusiasm. After these years of Trumps cult of hatred we really need an entire new paradigm, someone to get us excited in a positive way. I'm afraid if continued down this current path it will lead to either Fascism, or Theocracy, As it is, Americans need the proverbial "Whack upside the head" No more passive tolerance. We need to gat angry, and visibly active.
@Grateful4you
You started the post with a concern about inflation. You follow the “Build Back America” plan with the progressive plan and the inflation would have been blamed on Joe. He is about to pay 2 trillion off the deficit this coming year.
Still wonder why people think Joe handled the economy poorly. I think the way he got everybody back to work was amazing after trump lost 40 trillion on the economy and spent 10 trillion on a larger deficit. Joe isn’t fat either.
Joe is good to go!

What the french did to Marie Antoinette is looking like a good idea at that point.
@SoulAsylum But do we know where to point a finger? The grain growers? The swathers or combines fuel? OPEC?

@Grateful4you True, people warned that locking the world down for 2 years becuase of the virus could lead to mass starvation look at Sri Lanka, other countries will follow more than likely.
@SoulAsylum Good points, a little scary but it is what it is.
The inflation is outrageous and particular hard on lower and fixed incomes.

@SW-User Of course it had nothing to do with Trump. Trump is the poster boy of honesty and integrity. As far as the Capitol "love-in" that was an exercise in patriotism and love of country. You just wanted to stop the steal from that massive landslide. Nothing delusional there. lol
