Trees are half my life (working backwards)

The white birch trees
Copses of corpses

I joke and say,
“Nice ash;”

Remembering the beech tree
Our picnic, rekindling

Living while dying
It’s tough as I visit

In a world of mixed sensation
It's often hard to find elation
In the downturn of vexation
Though I hope you know you're not alone

Inside a world that lives and dies
Behind our weary, tear stained eyes
Are all the tears we dare not cry
As they cut so close to the bone

We only can do what we do
With hearts and souls that are true
Bleeding out for all we knew
Until we find our way back home

** Sorry for the rhyme. Sometimes I can't help myself when I feel the spurts of inspiration.

I hope all is well and that you've found at least a few reasons to smile this day, Ms. Bees
I wish you much peace through whatever inspiration you found that caused this.

Peace
