Firefighters last week: be careful in nature! There's been extreme drought and a single spark can get out of hand very quickly!

Our military today: let's practice with explosives on this huge patch of heath. 👍

The result: the biggest nature fire ever seen here. Firefighters expect to need several days to get it under control, 90% of citizens in the entire country has been advised to keep doors and windows closed due to smoke, highways in the area have been closed completely for hours and it's unclear when they can reopen.

At least the military did lend two firefighting helicopters to help make us safe again from the danger they put us in, twice. 😌 (They started a big nature fire last year too, though that didn't get out of hand this much. Apparently, instead of learning how to prevent that, they learned how to make it bigger.)

Flightradar24 is getting pretty interesting. Looks like they scaled up to 4 helicopters.

@OogieBoogie yep! I understand they needed their training and didn't want to skip that because of drought, but now they'll have to skip it anyway because their training area is on fire. Same result, except now the whole country is suffering with them and there's going to be a lot of damage and costs outside the military too. 🤦
