The vibrant red is caused by iron-rich brine from a subglacial lake that oxidizes upon contact with oxygen, creating iron oxides. The lake has been isolated for millions of years, trapped under about 400 meters of ice.
If I had ridiculous amounts of money I'd spend a good part of my life traveling the world to see all it's amazing curiosities. And of course take selfies with them to post on SW ✌
