Shards of Ice

We got a ton of rain right before it started to freeze. The result? Ice shards. Water that was in the saturated ground that froze and was forced up out of the ground.

Just watching the swath of forecasted freezing rain in central USA on the Canadian Weather network. It runs from east Texas right through to the eastern seaboard. Heavy, heavy freezing rain expected and there WILL be power outages that last for days, which is really bad because the Arctic air is sliding south from Canada and will be there for a week at least. This will not end well.
