Arctic Ascent with Alex Honnold

This premiered last night on NatGeo. I believe it's on Hulu as well.
It's part over the top exploration in an extraordinarily remote area of Greenland and part scientific data gathering.
Honnold is still an incredible climber but there's a couple of women in this who are total badasses.
And Greenland is surreal. Just incredibly beautiful. And dangerous.
This trailer is a little lame but the three part series is something some might enjoy.

Wow. That is so scary to me. I don't have that driving need for that kind of adrenaline rush. I don't get it, but I also know some of the most amazing discoveries, feats, and images have been made by those who do.

@ChampagneOnIce Yeah. I think it's one of those things that's a calling. Some people are just wired that way. They willingly suffer for their objective. An admirable trait and good for the species. 👍

@Ynotisay I enjoyed the climbing documentary you recommended before, so maybe I’ll check this one out, too.

I will have to check it out!

I recommend The Alpinist, about Marc Andre LeClair, Alex makes a appearance in it

@Fullmetal Good call. Loved that movie. Outside of his extraordinary skills, for me it was that he wasn't out there looking to be seen. He just wanted to climb. Hard to know if he would have gone on to be the face of climbing or just stayed in the background. He was a different animal.

@Ynotisay he definitely was a different animal!!

Ohh that looks interesting!

@Jeephikelove Some amazing footage. A hardcore place and some hardcore climbers.
