Is it true Americans don’t walk anywhere?

Your streets look deserted on Google maps.

It's built for cars and it discourages all the alternatives. The suburbs are purposefully built with cul de sacs and dead ends instead of a grid, to prevent carless movement. The cities are dominated by roads that would kill pedestrians. "Pedestrian" in the USA means trash quality. Useless, cheap and too embarrassing to look at.
When fascists from Rotterdam looked upon it they were jealous and demanded fatal roads of their own to cruise on in killer cars. The Dutch admire Americans.
