I have a couple that I feed peanuts to sometimes . They don’t always get the peanuts as they plan . They come and get it then take it and hide it and come back for more ,cute but they don’t realize a blue jay watches them then goes and steals them. If the squirrel finds out they’re not very happy about things 😂
Fun to watch them.

@Repete The trinity of peanut lovers, squirrels, bluejays, and chipmumks.

I have found that a few other small birds love them also . A nuthatch hangs around my window waiting for me to put some shelled peanuts out for him. Chickadees love them as well. Not to forget a woodpecker also . Lol it could get expensive feeding birds and squirrels 🐿 that drop by for a snack@JimboSaturn

@Repete Oh yes I had a woodpecker once as well. Of course the mice love them too. I spent a fortune feeding all the creatures. I stopped because I was getting a problem with mice.

Yes that can be a problem as well.
I have a question, do you have or see any Canadian jays, graybirds, or whiskey jacks, whatever you call them? We use to have a lot around here but not anymore, I liked them.@JimboSaturn

@Repete Yes I still have a lot of bluejays. Less now since I'm not feeding them. I notice them more in the winter.

We have way to many blue jays here, hard for other birds to get any food with them around.
The Canadian jay is a lot tamer and not as greedy, use to see them everywhere when I was growing up.@JimboSaturn

@Repete Blue Jays are greedy. They start squawking when they want their peanuts.

And if they don’t get any the chase the squirrels and other birds that’s why I feed a few birds and squirrels that are brave enough to come by my window feeder ,and they know how to get my attention if I’m there.@JimboSaturn
